Year 10 students in GCSE Product Design took part in a logo design competition for the Hammersmith and Fulham Partnership for Young People in February. The Hammersmith and Fulham Partnership for Young People is a new company that aims to support young people in the local area and many local schools were involved in the competition. Five designs were selected finalists created by Roisin, Mahdia, Sarah, Rahma and Cheyenne pictured. Judges from “101 London” (a famous design studio in central London) chose Cheyenne Buchanan-Bates of 10M as the winner and complimented all students from Fulham Cross Girls School for their creativity and ability to communicate the key aims of the company in their logos. All finalists have been invited to “101 London” design studios in Somerset House, central London, to work with Cheyenne and the designers to make her design into a finished professional logo. Once complete it will be used for the company on all types of media from posters to billboards and of course their website! I hope that there will be more competitions for all year groups later this year in all design subjects. Well done to all finalists. Mr Petchey.
