This year two budding chefs, Rhymia Smith and Parhys Spence were selected to take part in the finals of the Hammersmith and Fulham Chef of the Year. They were up against some stiff competition from other schools in the borough, however both made an excellent impression on the judges. The head chef from Fulham Football club, Gerrard Madden said that he “couldn’t believe the talent” from Parhys and Rhymia. After an intense hour of cooking, it was left to the judges to decide who the winner of the competition was. Parhys Spence came first and won the Hammersmith and Fulham Chef of the Year and Rhymia Smith came runner up. Well done to both girls.
Parhys produced a parmesan and spinach stuffed chicken with a sweet potato puree and asparagus, followed by a salted caramel panna cotta dessert.
Rhymia produced scallops on a bed of risotto with rosemary sprigs followed by a raspberry panna cotta and raspberry coulis.
